JOHN DEERE BLACK DASH 720 DIESEL PONY START STANDARD WHEATLAND RUNS. 1958 serial number is 7222601. A fresh off the farm 720. Was found originally near Mitchell South Dakota. Previous owner said it hasn’t run in about 5-6 years but for the fun of it before we loaded it we did pull it in 6th gear got a good run and let go of the decompression and she fired up. It did smoke and the rpms sped off and we shut off right away. While it was running I could feel the clutch was weak and wasn’t able to stop the tractor on its own. We never tried the pony engine. I can put a battery in it and see if it turns over before the auction ends. Rear tires are original and are 18.4x30 and they do have fluid in them. One rim is rusted through due to the fluid the other rim is solid but the original style. Original front JD1276R 18” front wheels the front end is nice with no breaks or welds. It has pto and the wide swing drawbar frame. Hood is very nice and so is the grill, the grill has two holes added below the yellow stripe for some reason. It has a float ride seat, the foot platform is correct brake pedals are correct, both kick panels are included one needs to be straightened. Block and head look good externally. The fenders are very straight but both do have areas of rust through as shown but for as straight as they are I would definitely repair these rather than replace. It’s a black dash 720 standard and deserves a nice retirement
