Description
You are viewinga RARE 1/16 8650 John Deere 4WD Toy Tractor Repowered with a Cummins engine as was done by KINZE Power Products.
It is Serial Number 135 of 300. These were made by the late Danny Gottman of Gottman Toys. It started out as an Ertl 8650. At the rear they added a 3-point hitch, swinging drawbar, cab details, hand rails, lights and mirrors. The front was totally reworked to accommodate the Cummins engine. A new hood was cast with a bulge for the turbocharger. Unfortunately it was not properly cured as "gassing" has caused the hood paint to bubble. Note the very small hinges at the front of the hood which are broken. Instead of tilting the hood, you can just remove it to see the engine. Also note the swing out battery box at the front. The Ertl wheels were replaced with deep dish duals with Firestone 18.4R-38 Radials. I bought this new, put it on the shelf and have washed off the dust. It will be shipped in the original box which will be placed inside another box. You will be the second owner! It is 13-1/2 inches long. NOTE: I am downsizing my collection, so check my other auctions.
