A vintage "Windsor" green transfer ware (polychrome) soup tureen and lid. This is a RARE item to find, especially in this like-new condition. This soup tureen is decorated with green floral and bird motif with color dded to the birds (blue) and flowers (red, yellow, blue.) This is a very elegant soup tureen that would blend with many patterns.
The bottom of the soup tureen is marked: Genuine hand engraving by Ridgway oif Staffordshire England. Est. 1792. All colours guaranteed underglaze and detergent proof "Windsor"
It is a generous size: It is 12" including the handles, 10 1/2" wide (diameter) at the widest bulge. x 9" tall with the lid.
